Being Ridiculous 瞎傻趣味的都會生活

This is the type of silly scene highly likely to happen between me and my husband.

If I am to find some illustrations to best visualize the idea of "Urban Ridicule," they have to be the amazing artworks by Jordi Labanda. Although I first learned about Labanda through a series of stationary collection in my teen-years, his artwork and talent is definitely far more than those prints on notebook covers.

Besides the trendy female figures and dazzlingly fashion parties he portraits, I adore Labanda's artwork more for its daily-life wittiness reflected in his creations. The seemly ridiculous surprises (the swim fin!!) always manage to smear a smile on my face; it feels like visualization of the comedy bits in my head.

But at other times, it is more about social phenomenon. I am especially attracted to the various illustrations with his take on "cellphones." Well, as illustrations speak louder than words, I will let Jordi Labanda's work to do the talking. Enjoy.

網誌一直以來就取了個聽起來揶揄荒謬又時尚的名字；但如果我要將 Urban Ridicule 這個概念圖像化，最適合的大概會是 Jordi Labanda 的畫作。雖然我在花樣年華(?) 時藉由收藏文具第一次接觸到他的作品，但我漸漸發現 Labanda的創作可不僅止於筆記本封面啊！

除了他勾勒出曼妙的都會女性及令人嚮往的時尚場景外，我更欣賞他作品中暗藏日常生活的傻趣味。畫中突如其來的小物（那雙鮮黃的鰭）及氛圍常讓我會心（或噗嗤）一笑，有時覺得這簡直就是腦中喜劇片段被真實地描繪出來。

當然，身為享譽國際的畫家可不是這麼膚淺，他畫作中也以趣味呈現不少真實的社會現象。他有幾件以「手機不離身」為主題的作品非常吸引我；但我的千言萬語再怎麼會寫，也比不上 Jordi Labanda 的作品來得有趣。所以就請大家細細欣賞囉。
